Caterpillar at Bauma 2025: Shaping Innovation for the Next 100 Years
From April 7 to 13, 2025, the Bauma trade fair in Munich set the stage for Caterpillar to showcase its bold vision for the future. Under the inspiring theme “The Next 100 Years”, the brand demonstrated its strong commitment to innovation, connectivity, and sustainability within Hall B6.
Spanning over 9,000 square meters, Caterpillar's stand featured 48 machines, including a wide range of new models—from battery-electric equipment to advanced demolition and waste recycling solutions, and the latest additions to the Next Gen line. As Tony Fassino, President of Caterpillar Construction Industries, emphasized: the goal is to build a safer, smarter, and more sustainable world—together with customers and dealer partners.
Cat Performance Centre: At the Heart of the Experience
At the core of the exhibit stood the Cat Performance Centre, an immersive space designed to highlight the power of integrating machines, drivetrains, and technology. Visitors discovered how Caterpillar’s cutting-edge solutions can boost productivity while reducing emissions. Several electric machines were on display, including the 301.9 Mini Excavator, the 906 Compact Wheel Loader, and prototype models of the 320 and 950 GC—accompanied by their respective charging solutions.
Technology, Connectivity & Safety in Action
Attendees had the opportunity to explore the latest in fleet management with VisionLink®, advanced safety features through Cat Detect (including personnel detection, seat belt monitoring, and operator alert systems), and the full range of Cat Grade and Cat Payload solutions. A special spotlight was placed on Cat Command, enabling remote machine operation—demonstrated live from locations across Europe, including Caterpillar’s Demonstration & Learning Center in Málaga.

Powering the Future: Energy & Electrification
In Hall A4, Caterpillar presented its latest powertrain developments, including engines compatible with 100% hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and other renewable fuels. The new C13D engine, an electric drive transmission, and hydrogen engine testing efforts generated strong interest among visitors. The XQP115 mobile generator and the XES60 Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) illustrated Caterpillar’s strategic path toward greener, more energy-efficient jobsites.
The XES60 BESS solution, for example, enables on-site charging for electric machines. It integrates seamlessly with solar power, fuel-flexible generators, or the grid—storing excess energy and releasing it as needed. Smart energy monitoring enhances site efficiency while significantly cutting fossil fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions.
